Definitely try some Taza next time you're able.

Mom, I kind of remember that now...maybe? Actually, I now remember going on a tour of the Palmolive factory in Malaysia. Did that really happen? I think so. I'm so glad you took me out of school to tour a bread factory, that's awesome.

Meghan, totally, 100%, it's always kind of mind blowing to me when I take the time and think about how we can create/transform things in the kitchen.

Interesting "store," Dad. I'm now craving spoon bread and sopaipilla and I don't even completely know what they are! Sounds good though. They had ghost chilies at Christina's and I almost got you some, but figured that a chili pepper what can be weaponized is actually not in my interest to eat or give to someone I love to eat. ...but still, I kind of wonder. I used Taza chocolate in my tasting class a couple weeks ago and we tasted their raw cacao and nibs too! Yum.

Hey, PB and Jess, you'll definitely find Taza 'round these parts, but it's spreading out all over the country too. So, I was looking around (online as not likely to find here in the boondocks) for a source of some of the less common ingredients called for and came across dagiftbasket.com in NM that has a wide range of chilies in both dried pods, flakes and powder as well as the piloncillo sugar at reasonable prices compared to any other source I found. I ordered a pretty complete assortment of chilies to round out the spice drawer here, so I may have to register with Homeland security now... I found the masa harina at Laurie's in Rochester, so now all I need to do is order some Taza chocolate. You took a note to your kindergarten teacher in the afternoon saying you had an appointment in Olean. Your appointment involved a tour of the factory where bread, inferior to anything you bake now, was cranked out by the truckload.
Maybe Strohman Bread no longer exists. Nothing shows up on the internet except references to old commercials claiming "no big holes" in the slices.
I'm a big fan of factory tours but likely there are few food factories that leave a person more enthusiastic about their product after a peek behind that curtain. That makes Taza even more special.
I'll give your recipe a try and hope some day to see Taza myself.
